Well I am shocked! How can you say such awful things about the witnesses,,, Haven't you seen the covers they used to put on the Awake and watchtower magazines? Happy loving families that others flock to the KH just so they can be just like them? Unless......I wonder what goes on behind closed doors? Snoozy..knows!

My Scan Results
by Dansk inas many of you will know, yesterday i received my scan results from the haematologist.
when i entered his office he was beaming and so i thought the news would be good.
the chemotherapy has shrunk the cancerous lymph nodes in my stomach substantially!!

Tonsil Cancer?

they are telling him it is caused by smoking(no surprise here) and drinking!
he does smoke but has quit for years at a time and then gone back.

You may be right..she just told me his Dad had it several years ago but is in remission.(He is a minister)lol
We were never close they were only married for 5 years but he did give me a beautiful grandson!
He lives in Florida (with his new wife)and I am in Missouri so I never see him. He does pay his child support regular though. And is a very good father.
He sees his son several times a year and bought a computer for his son so they could see each other when they talk.

He does smoke but has quit for years at a time and then gone back.
He is a heavy weekend drinker but you wouldn't know it during the week.
Anyway..he is having them out today and then he will go into chemo and radiation.
He is only in his 40's so this is a surprise to me.
I never heard of drinking causing cancer of the throat (tonsils)in any way.
And from what my daughter read it only has a 50 percent rate of survival?
No one believes me but many years ago I remember reading in a Awake that tomatos can cause cancer.(Watching the world) I would love to find that article.
They also blamed aluminum for alzheimers...

Shunning: Is it really a bad thing?
by thinker ini met my jw wife about 5 years ago.
she da'd shortly after we met and like most people i thought it was terribly strange and wrong that her family shunned her.
for the first two years of our marriage my wife would call her parents on a fairly regular basis.

Thanks for your reply Thinker. I didn't know that the JW's would give a memorial in a home. I had my JW hubby's in a KH and didn't enjoy it at all.
The speaker hardly mentioned him at all..but it was what he wanted..
He also wanted his ashes spread out in the flowers at his KH..even tho he barely knew anyone there.I haven't had the nerve to let go yet.
I keep thinking what if they sell the hall? He'll end up under asphalt...or a cross...bummer...what to do....

Ever thought of going back...

i read a lot of experiences that so many went through while a jw...the judicial committee meetings, the verbal abuse from elders and pioneers, the intrusion into private matters, the list goes on and on.
i haven't had to endure some of the terrible things that some have endured, though there was always the constant counsel about grooming, music, movies, cars, etc.. sometimes i think, knowing what i know now, that if i ever had to go back for whatever reason, i could really enjoy being a thorn in the side of many of the elders and over-righeous zealots.

My only reason for ever going back would have been my hubby. I think I would have just to be with him. It would have made him so happy.And I couldn't have cared less..they have no hold on me.I could smile and be phoney as well as they do!... But he has passed on..no reason now. Funny the things that just don't seem that important as you get older... When I first stopped being a JW all I wanted to do was prove how wrong they were..just doesn't seem to matter now. I guess because I have no contact with them..it would probably be a different story if I had a lot of JW relatives that shunned me. I just keep remembering them saying the only way I will ever see hubby again is to return to the KH...still sticks in my mind. Cruel people..... Snoozy...
